April showers? What are those?

“April showers being May flowers” Not in Alaska this year. This past well it had snowed multiple times here in Fairbanks. There was even a point where it seemed like everything was melted on the roads then looking out a window “Is that snow? Is out snow, again!?” It snowed yesterday. Don’t expect me to…

Hello, my name is CraftyAggie.

Why hello road. My name is CraftyAggie. I know it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other, but I’ve missed you. I hope you wouldn’t mind hanging around. Please breakup with snow. You two just aren’t good for each other, and no one likes your lasting relationship. It’s been going on too long.

Ice, please go away!

The ice is acting crazy here in Alaska right now. Since it’s still, let me repeat, still hanging around not melting, it’s been making funky shapes all over the place. This is a picture my Dad took of the ice on his workshop.

And more snow…

I know it’s April ninth, but the weather in Fairbanks, Alaska doesn’t know that.

Shouldn’t have spoken so soon…

…winter is back! More surprises in Alaska. Snow! For this whole week possibly. Hoping the weatherman is wrong. How about you? Do you still have snow?

Sorry, Snow. This isn’t working out. We need to break up.

Here in Alaska, “Spring” is a welcome season. That means the snow will finally go away, after arriving as early as September and as late as November. Living here we are guaranteed to have a white Christmas. On the flip side, we are not guaranteed that the snow will melt by the end of April,…

Wish I may, wish I might…

…first star I see tonight…” A new realization cane to mind recently; when I was a child loving in South Carolina and Texas I always wanted to live somewhere it snowed and I wanted a horse. Driving hone from work yesterday, I looked up at the stars I used to wish on miles away and…

Blogging Excitement

Thoughts While Driving

* Driving a stick shift is annoying at -30 in ice fog in traffic is extremely annoying. * Cars without running lights are dangerous in ice fog. * Negative 30 is really cold. * My car is an optimist. (Being that the thermometer thought it was -13 and not the actual temperature of ~-30.)

Sunday Sun

The sun sits in the sky, on the horizon, burning its heart out with a longing to warm the Earth. My eyes burn every time they catch the bright rays. The ground, the snow, the trees, and the air around all refuse the warmth. They sit frozen in white, coldly mocking time. My eyes are the only ones…

Alaska 2 Days Before Halloween

Everyone is getting ready for Halloween. And Alaska says “Haha, no no. You aren’t going to enjoy Halloween like everyone else in America. You get 6 inches of snow.” I’ll let you see what I see.
